Compact 20M-6M EFHW
The Compact 20M–6M EFHW was designed for amateur radio operators with limited space for antenna installations, making it an excellent choice for HOA-restricted properties and other antenna-challenged environments.
At just 14 feet in length, this compact end-fed half-wave antenna delivers multi-band capability while maintaining a low-profile footprint. The matching network inside the enclosure has been specifically engineered and tuned to provide resonance across the supported operating bands, allowing efficient performance in a compact design.
Whether you’re working with a small lot, restrictive covenants, or simply need a discreet antenna solution, the Compact 20M–6M EFHW helps keep you on the air without requiring a large installation.

SWR Performance (No ATU Required)
The following SWR measurements were recorded without the use of an antenna tuner (ATU):
| Band | Frequency | SWR |
|---|---|---|
| 20M | 14.074 MHz | 1.7:1 |
| 20M | 14.230 MHz | 1.8:1 |
| 17M | 18.100 MHz | 1.2:1 |
| 17M | 18.140 MHz | 1.3:1 |
| 15M | 21.074 MHz | 1.2:1 |
| 15M | 21.300 MHz | 1.4:1 |
| 12M | 24.915 MHz | 2.0:1 |
| 12M | 24.950 MHz | 2.1:1 |
| 10M | 28.074 MHz | 2.2:1 |
| 10M | 28.400 MHz | 2.3:1 |
| 6M | 50.125 MHz | 1.5:1 |
| 6M | 50.313 MHz | 1.6:1 |
These results demonstrate that the antenna is fully usable across all supported bands without an external tuner. If desired, your transceiver’s internal antenna tuner (ATU) can easily fine-tune the match and further reduce SWR, though it is generally not required for normal operation.
Attic Installation
For optimal performance, mount the antenna in an open section of the attic with as much clearance as possible. Avoid placing it near metal objects, electrical wiring, or HVAC components, as these can affect antenna efficiency and SWR performance.

### Installation Directions
The Matchbox includes four through-mounting holes for flexible installation options. When installing in an attic, the unit may be secured to a joist using zip ties or screws, depending on preference.
The antenna wire may be installed in a horizontal configuration or at a slight downward angle. Fine-tuning of performance can be achieved by adjusting the overall antenna length as needed. An optional insulator is included to assist with installation and strain relief.
For outdoor HOA-compliant or stealth installations, non-metallic support such as strong fishing line can be used to maintain a low-visibility setup.
As with other EFHW-style antennas, it is recommended to use at least **15 feet of coaxial cable** to ensure proper operation.
